Happy Halloween!
We've been having lots of spooky fun around here with all the Halloween festivities. Alicia dressed up as a candy cane themed superhero called Super Minty!
We constructed her costume from a thrift store prom dress, repurposed cape and some pipe cleaners. Presto! Super Minty to the rescue!
We went trick-or-treating for a very brief time... one cul-de-sac.... just to say we did it. Then we retreated to our church's indoor harvest festival. Halloween in Alaska is tricky. You either need to wear a fur-lined costume or celebrate indoors.
The day before Halloween we had our Brownie troop meeting. The girls threw a birthday costume party for Juliette Gordon Low (the founder of GS), whose birthday is Halloween. They wore costumes, ate spooky food, played games, and scared themselves silly in the "Witch's Attic".... Alicia and I had set up the upper nook of our home to be a haunted house, complete with dry ice witch's brew, spooky music, body parts and a black light. We had an older sibling hiding under the table to grab ankles and set the Brownies to screaming. Good times!
