Hide

Last day of moose season. I'm meeting Stephen by the river at 5pm to haul him and perhaps a moose back home.

If they do get a moose, I'm hoping they'll at least haul a portion of the hide out of the camp. I'm hoping to learn how to work with moose hide (and other furs) to make stuff like mittens and mukluks (boots).

I have some marten furs I got at a yard sale this past summer, and there's a book at the library which tells about the Eskimo ways of sewing furs. Those marten furs are big enough to make some slippers for little Alicia May...
