Christmas Cheer
Yay for Christmas!
We cut down our Christmas tree yesterday in the Matanuska-Susitna Moose Range north of Palmer. The girls napped in the truck while Stephen and I tramped through the snowy woods in search of the perfect tree.
At home, Alicia was a big help in decorating the tree. She's very excited about all things related to Christmas. I set Kate & Ray's gifts under the tree this morning before she awoke and she was ecstatic. She can't wait to open them...
Tess, Alicia, and Daddy did the most work on decorating the tree while Christmas music played in the background.

Decorated, that tree is beautiful. Bare though, that's the best you could do!?! - Jacki
We think it's lovely... bare or decorated!
It took a while to find a tree that even remotely resembled a standard "Christmas tree". It's not a tree farm where they're bred to be perfect cone shapes, with full branches, etc. This is the Alaskan wilderness. We found several great options which were about 30 feet over our heads. But they frown upon topping trees... So we were pleased to find this one. If we want a perfect looking tree next year, we'll whip out the pre-lit tree we have in a box in the shed that comes with the remote control! :o)
