Iditarod Sled Dog Race

We spent the afternoon out at Willow Lake watching 71 mushers and their teams of athletes head down the trail to Nome.

It was a great day to be out on the frozen lake. Hundreds, if not thousands, of folks felt the same way. Tess brought her two little babysitting clients as their parents are working two of the checkpoints, at Yentna and Finger Lake. She's babysitting for a couple of days. It's Spring Break.

After the Restart, we stopped at the Houston Lodge for a bite to eat. We weren't actually too hungry as we'd eaten a late lunch. But it all worked out because the service at the Lodge was incredibly slow. So it took about an hour to get our food.

I'm looking forward to tracking the mushers' progress as they make their way over 1100 miles of trail to Nome.
